Be findable. Everywhere homeowners look.

Homeowners don't just Google anymore. They search Bing, follow Apple Maps directions, check Yelp, and ask AI assistants who to call. The Local Directory Listings add-on puts your company on 20+ major directories — with the same name, phone number, and details on every one — and keeps them that way.

Why It Matters

Search engines believe what they can cross-check

When someone searches for your trade, Google and Bing don't just look at your website. They compare your business against your listings all over the internet — directories, maps, and review sites. When everything matches, the engines trust your information and show your business with confidence: in local results, on maps, in "near me" searches, and in the AI-generated answers more homeowners rely on every year. When your information is missing or contradicts itself from site to site, that confidence drops — and a business the engines aren't sure about is a business they show less.

Directory data also travels far beyond the directory itself. Foursquare's directory data is licensed into Apple Maps, Bing, Snapchat, Uber and many other apps — and consistent listings across the major directories are exactly what the data aggregators, and the AI tools answering homeowner questions, pull from. Get your information right on the majors and it reaches 100+ sites, maps, and apps.

The Other Side

What happens when listings are missing — or drift

📞

A wrong phone number

Old numbers never die online — they just sit on directories, quietly sending ready-to-hire customers to a dead line or a stranger.

🗺️

Missing where people actually look

No Bing listing means no presence in Bing search and Microsoft's AI answers. No Apple Maps presence means iPhone drivers and Siri can't find you at all.

⚠️

Conflicting details

One site says one address, another says a different one, a third has your old name. Search engines read that disagreement as doubt — and rank doubt lower.

None of this fixes itself. Listings get created by data feeds, edited by strangers, and left behind when your business changes. Somebody has to go set them right — and keep them right. That's the add-on.

What's Included

20+ major directories, one consistent record

We create, claim, or correct your listing — same name, same phone, same details — on the directories that matter most for local search:

The search majors

Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Maps — the listings behind Google search, Bing and Microsoft AI answers, and every iPhone map.

The trust directories

Yelp, BBB (Better Business Bureau), YellowPages and Superpages — the names homeowners and other sites check when they're deciding who to trust.

The home-services directories

Angi and more — the places homeowners browse specifically for pros who work on homes.

The data backbone

Manta, Foursquare, Alignable, Hotfrog, Cylex and more — the directories whose data is licensed and syndicated into maps, apps, GPS services, and AI answers across the internet.

How It Works

Audit, fix, then keep watch

1

Audit

We check what's already out there under your company name — what's correct, what's drifted, and what's missing entirely.

2

Create, claim & fix

We build the missing listings, claim the ones that exist, and correct every wrong phone number, address, and detail we find.

3

Verify

A few directories verify by calling or emailing the business — one short verification step in your first week, and we handle everything else.

4

Monitor

Quarterly accuracy checks, drift fixed when it appears, alerts when reviews land on your directories, and new directories added as they become worth it.

Not the same as our Public Directory Listing add-on ($10/mo) — that one lists you on Gold Star Referrals' own Local Partners page. This one is the major directories across the whole internet. Many pros carry both.

Questions

Directory Listings Q&A

The details, up front.

What is the Local Directory Listings add-on?

For a $199 one-time setup, we list your company — with the same name, phone number, and business details everywhere — on 20+ major local directories: Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Yelp, Apple Maps, BBB, YellowPages, Angi, Manta, Foursquare, Alignable, Hotfrog, Cylex and more. A $10-a-month monitoring option then keeps those listings accurate over time.

How is this different from the Public Directory Listing add-on?

Different directories entirely. The Public Directory Listing puts your company on Gold Star Referrals' own Local Partners page, with a live backlink to your website. Local Directory Listings puts your company on the major directories across the whole internet — Google, Bing, Yelp, Apple Maps, BBB and many more. They are separate add-ons, and pros can carry both.

Why do directory listings matter for SEO?

Google and Bing cross-check your business against directories all over the web. When your name, phone number, and details match everywhere, the search engines trust that information — and trusted information is what gets shown in local search results, maps, and AI-generated answers. When listings are missing or disagree — a disconnected phone number on one site, an old address on another — the engines lose confidence and your business shows up less. Consistent listings are one of the foundations of local SEO for Google and Bing alike.

What does the $10-a-month monitoring cover?

Four things: quarterly checks that your listings are still accurate; fixing drifted information — a changed phone number, an old address, outdated hours — when we find it; an alert when a new review lands on one of your directories, so you can respond while it is fresh; and adding new directories as they become worth having. The monitoring is optional and month to month, and you can cancel it anytime.

Will I have to do anything to set it up?

Almost nothing. A few directories verify a new listing by calling or emailing the business, so there may be one short verification step in your first week — confirming a code or tapping a link. We handle the listings themselves, the descriptions, and the consistency checks.

How is it billed?

The setup is a one-time $199. Monitoring is $10 a month, optional and month to month. Both are billed separately from your lead service and never deducted from your $200 lead deposit. If you cancel the monitoring, the listings we created stay in place — they are your company's listings.
